Management Reports return in Bika 4

Bika’s Management Reports are making a return, rebuilt in Python 3. The first upgraded report, Analysis results per Sample Point, sponsored by AWTC Water Treatment Consulting, NY, is going live. It presents tabulated and hyperlinked results data alongside a dual Y-axis graph, and including method detection limits and the selected specification’s minimum and maximum values.

Management Reports were phased out in favour of Senaite DataBox, but some labs found it difficult to navigate and missed the refinements they relied on – subheaders, totals, calculations, etc. To address this, where funding allows, the Bika Lab Systems team aims to restore the classic reports on DataBox’s query engine and extend them. A few legacy reports remain, described by the developers as ‘ugly as sin’.

The results in the accompanying table of the plotted data points, are hyperlinked and can easily be looked up. Final reports can be exported as PDF which will also save them in the Reports history. Manual.

Sponsors are invited to put forward reporting requirements in support of the development. The report can easily be adapted for the results to be graphed per Patient in healthcare scenarios, e.g. a Patient’s Viral load against CD4+ T cell count.

Earlier this year Time Series graphs were added by the Research & Development group at Ozinga Ready Mix Concrete Inc. Chicago. In the Manual
